Traffic and Road Safety West BerkshireWest Berkshire Council Speed Management Framework consultation – FEEDBACK REQUIRED by 13/07/2020

Speeding is often a high priority agenda item in local community meetings and over the last few years the Road Safety team have been looking to set ‘good practise’ to establish a fair and evidence based system. Understanding and changing driver behaviour has never been easy and the ‘one size fits all’ philosophy is obsolete. By introducing a Speed Management Framework we hope we’ll have a transparent and consistent approach across the district.  The framework, will set out the Councils vision for tackling community concerns on speed. It will also outline where a community can help to tackle these issues themselves, or where the Speed Management Technician and Road Safety Team resource can be effectively directed. As representatives of your local community, and as stakeholders in providing some of the Speed Indicator Device (SID) data, we would welcome your feedback on the aims we are hoping to achieve.
