Subscriptions for the 2020/21 garden waste service are now open (as of Tuesday 21 July) for West Berkshire residents.
The 2020/21 garden waste service subscription period runs from 01 September 2020 to 27 August 2021. The subscription fees remain the same as last year with the service charge for the first bin costing £50.
A reminder email or letter is being sent out to all current subscribers inviting them to renew their existing subscription online at: www.westberks.gov.uk/gardenwaste.
Residents who are subscribing for the first time can also do this online and we are encouraging interested residents to subscribe or renew by 14 August 2020 to ensure garden waste collections continue with no interruption.
Residents signing up will have their garden waste – including grass cuttings, pruning’s, plants and weeds – collected every fortnight on their normal recycling collection day. Full details of what can be collected are available online at: www.westberks.gov.uk/gardenwaste.
Cllr Steve Ardagh-Walter, Executive Member for Environment at West Berkshire Council, said:
“If you have a current subscription for 2019/20, this will end on 28 August 2020 and you will need to renew as soon as possible if you want to make sure there is no break in your service.
“This service is an easy way to recycle your garden waste and over 31,000 residents chose to subscribe last year. We are proud of the fact that the kerbside collections have been resilient and continued without interruptions during the ongoing COVID-19 situation. We look forward to serving even more customers in the upcoming subscription period.”
